10 Drugstore Beauty Favs from Celebrity Makeup Artist Tanya Rae

Sometimes, we get tired of reading about the latest and greatest beauty products to hit the market, particularly given they often cost more than our rent does.  Since most of us won't be buying the latest $2k La Mer moisturizing creme to be touted in the major mags anytime soon, we here at Broke Girl's Guide prefer to quiz beauty professionals on their favorite affordable drugstore products.  Today, we asked makeup artist Tanya Rae -- who has worked with celebrities such as Jessica Szohr, Lindsay Lohan, and Bette Midler, and who is currently the in-house makeup artist at the Patrick Melville Salon --  to  let us in on her top 10 drugstore beauty picks as we move from spring into summer:

Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub  Keep your skin glowing by making exfoliation part of your routine.  This scrub is gentle enough to use on even the most sensitive skin on a regular basis.

CoverGirl Natureluxe Foundation – This lightweight foundation blends into the skin easily, leaving a polished, silky finish.  Perfect for evening out imperfections while letting the natural skin shine through.

Mattese Elite Luminizer – This creamy highlighter stick goes on sheer and is super easy to apply.  The light reflectant ingredients give the skin a soft, luminous glow.  Perfect for the cheeks and eyes.

Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose – A soft, pinky rose that looks amazing on any skin tone.  Blends easily for a glowy finish.

CoverGirl 1 Kit Eye Enhancers Queen Collection in Fire It Up –  Bronze shadows are a staple this season.  This shadow has a rich pigment and blends beautifully, so you can wear it alone or mix it with your favorite shadows.

L’Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Eye Shadow   Have fun with bright, bold eye colors this spring.  This shadow has intense pigment and rich color.  Blend softly for a sheer wash of color, or layer for a deep dramatic look.

Pink Papaya Automatic Long Lasting Liner – The texture of this liner is amazing.  It goes on soft and blends easily, while the color looks rich and defines the eyes.

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Waterproof Mascara  – This is one of my favorite mascaras!  The formula is amazing.  It really holds a curl, and you won’t have raccoon eyes by the end of the day.

Pink Papaya Super Balm – Add a pop of color to your lips with this moisturizing balm.  It goes on with the ease of a lip gloss -- but without the stickiness -- and it looks beautiful on every skin color.

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs – This spray is by far one of my favorites!  It's super easy to use -- just moisturize and spray.   The colors are really natural, and they soften the appearance of imperfections.  The best part is that this long-wearing formula stays put and doesn’t rub off on clothes.
