Liz Taylor’s Favorite Cocktails

As we’re sure you’ve heard, the legendary Elizabeth Taylor has passed away today.  Big fans of classic films and of her iconic beauty, we are more than a little depressed by this news.  In her honor, tonight we will be watching a double feature of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf while sipping one of her favorite cocktails (recipes below).  Here’s to you, Liz.

Midnight Cowboy Drink Recipe
 2 oz  Bourbon
 1 oz  Dark Rum
 1/2 oz  Heavy Cream

Directions
Combine ingredients in a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, shake well, and strain into a cocktail glass.


K.G.B. Drink Recipe
 1/4 tsp  Apricot Brandy
 1 1/2 oz  Gin
 1 twist  Lemon Peel
 1/2 oz  Kummel
 1/4 tsp  Lemon Juice

Directions
Shake all ingredients (except lemon peel) with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Add the twist of lemon peel and serve.
