Let’s Haze These Babies

Let's face it - more often than not the restaurants in our fair city are way over-hyped. It's pretty much ingrained in our culture that we should ruin genuinely good things with red carpet openings and Kardashian endorsements (disclaimer: we freaking love the Kardashians), so that by the time we common folk get around to trying a new restaurant out it's already been downgraded to a no-name chef and Wilmer Valderrama sightings.  For this reason, we believe that happy hours are the ideal way to test out a new space while it's still hot, without dropping a ton of cash on a meal that might, well, suck.  Here are a few newbies in town to start scoping:

City Tavern: From 3-6pm, $10 32-ounce beers and $3 4-ounce wine tasters.

The Fat Dog: $3 beers, $4 wine, $5 well drinks plus yummy appetizers for $5 (rock shrimp, swoon).

Fig & Olive: From 5-7pm, buy beer, wine or a cocktail and get free brushetta, dips, roastedvegetables or Focaccia breads.

The Misfit: From 3-7pm, get well drinks at 50% off and wine for $5.

Oscar's Cerveteca: Who needs a happy hour when empanadas and fish tacos are $5? Still, we recommend stopping by at the happy hour (5pm) when they open since they don't accept reservations.
