Hump Day Happy Hour: Downtown

You're a lawyer, which means we hate you because you make 483902489308 times what we make.  But, it also means you hate you because you don't even have time to spend the money you make, and because no one ever told you that blogging from home in your p.j.'s was a viable career option (we use the terms 'viable'  and 'career' loosely).  And besides, you're penny-pinching so that you can quit after your second or third year to open the surf shop in Mexico of which you've always dreamed.  We respect that, but today we challenge you to leave your office at 5pm to get your hump day happy hour on, lest you burn out before your fleeing fund has matured.  You may have to go back in to work afterward, but we feel a little booze makes us more focused.  Or, er, at least more anxious to finish up quickly and get home so we can pass out with our hand in a jar of Nutella.

Where to go:

Mas Malo:  Okay, this newly-opened expansion of Silverlake's Malo doesn't yet have a happy hour, but they do have a delicious female-friendly cocktail called the 'Senorita,' which is only $7.  Add in some $4 chips & salsa and you're likely good to go (don't you usually fill up on chips anyway?).
Casa:  Soak up your pitcher of Sangria with a $2 fried chicken soft taco.  We're fantasizing on your behalf right now.
McCormick & Schmick's: Yes, it's a chain (read: blech), but their happy hour is 'famous.'   Apps start at $1.95, drinks average $5.
Nick & Stef's: $2 oysters, $2 sliders, $5 cocktails.
Chaya: $5 cocktails, $5-$7 sushi & apps (lamb slider with gorgonzola?!  Our Trader Joe's split pea soup - which we love and which only has 150 calories per can - suddenly looks about as appetizing as, well, split pea soup).
Bottega Louie:  They don't have a happy hour either but we LOVE them and figured we'd include them anyway.  Beers are only $6 or $7.

What to Wear:
We've thrown on two skirts we like here with the same sheer blouse & blazer, different shoes, and black tights (for work).  After hours, pair the thigh highs with the red skirt instead of the tights, loose the blazer on both outfits and, if you're feeling saucy, take off the tank to leave this adorable lacy F21 bra peeking through.  Just remember to button it all back up before re-entering your place of business - we do NOT recommend sheer shirts & knee highs for office hours (unless you're behind on your billables...)!
