Healthy Booze (Er, Kinda)

Okay, maybe these margaritas aren’t actually good for you, but at least they are not the horrifying calorie bombs that most margaritas are.  You’ll have saved plenty of room for chips and guac – and more margaritas, naturally.

Our first suggestion is the standard Skinny Girl Margarita, which contains about 165 calories per serving.  Simply combine the following over a glass of ice:

2 ounces of clear premium tequila

A tiny splash of orange liquor

The juice of four fresh lime wedges

A splash of Grand Marnier or Triple Sec

If you want to try this frozen, just combine all ingredients (along with ice) in a blender.  Garnish with a wedge of lime.

Our second suggestion is the Lime Sorbet Margarita, which is so easy but so delicious, and just 186 calories per serving.  All you need is the following:

1/8 cup of sugar (if you want to coat the rim of the glass)

A wedge of lime

- two scoops of lime sorbet

One tablespoon of tequila

If you want to coat the rim of your glass with sugar, start by rubbing a lime wedge around the edge of a stemmed glass. Next, pour the sugar into a small plate, and dip the glass upside down into the sugar to coat the rim.

Next, place two scoops of lime sorbet in the glass, and pour tequila over the top.  You might want to lightly mix with a spoon. Delicious!
