Epistrophy in NY

We have no idea how long its been around or why we ended up dining or drinking there almost every day of my stay (our suspicion is that it has something to do with the restaurant’s proximity to our friend’s new boyfriend’s place), but we're a big fan of the almost unpronounceable Epistrophy restaurant. Located on Mott in Nolita, the cafe's Italian fare is yummy, filling, and uncharacteristically affordable. Plus, the host (?), who told us our $25 dress was ‘lovely,’ looks like Robert Downey Jr. Was sort of hoping he’d slip his number in with the check, but maybe he figured he had all the time in the world to woo us given we were frequenting the place like a regular. Missed connection?  Guess we'll have to go back.
